About CGQ®
Contextual Glyph Query (CGQ®) is a methodology for measuring and certifying the quality of AI-generated content. It emerged from research into semantic field coherence and the challenge of distinguishing meaningful AI output from superficially correct but contextually hollow content.
The Problem
AI-generated content often suffers from a fundamental quality issue: it can be grammatically correct, factually accurate, and stylistically appropriate — yet still fail to hold together as a coherent semantic whole.
This manifests as:
- Semantic drift — content that gradually loses connection to its central theme
- Weak binding — concepts that appear related but lack genuine connection
- Intent misalignment — responses that technically address a query but miss the underlying need
Traditional metrics (grammar, readability, keyword density) fail to capture these deeper quality issues. CGQ® provides a framework for measuring what they miss.
The Solution
CGQ® provides a quantified framework for measuring AI content quality across three dimensions:
- Semantic Coherence (SC) — Does the content hold together as a unified field of meaning?
- Contextual Binding Strength (CBS) — Are the relationships between concepts valid and strong?
- Query-Response Alignment (QRA) — Does the content actually address user intent?
These metrics combine into a single CGQ® Score that can be used for:
- Benchmarking AI content quality
- Comparing different AI models or prompting strategies
- Certifying content for publication or distribution
- Tracking quality improvements over time
The Methodology
CGQ® builds on research in:
- Semantic field theory — treating content as a coherent field rather than isolated tokens
- Contextual binding analysis — measuring relationship strength between concepts
